The Living Word

Bible Text: 2 Timothy 3.16-17

Paul writes two letters to a young bishop called Timothy. He desires to leave godly advice and wise counsel to a younger brother. They worked together to advance the gospel. Have you ever imagine what you would say to another more youthful brother or sister?

Paul wrote these letters from prison. He knew he had to give the best possible advice, as it could be the last letter he wrote to Timothy. The final words were crucial. Paul said the most important advice we could ever give to anyone: hold to the Scriptures.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3.16-17).

We hold to the Living Word because it is the Word of God that comes to us from the mouth of God. In such sacred writings, every good work is fulfilled through the equipping work of the Holy Spirit. God wants us to grow deeper in understanding and, doing so, we come to experience abundant life in Christ.

If we need the inspiration to carry on in hard times, we will find in the Bible. Hope, there we meet many people that find it. If it is wisdom, there is more than we could imagine. The Living Word is a guide for our soul and prepares us for everyday life.

Let me invite you today to take a moment to reflect on 2 Timothy 3.16-17. Do you believe what it says? God reveals so much about Him through the pages of the Bible. Ask Him to help you to read more regularly the Living Word. You can be sure that you will hear God's voice.
